Why We Built This Site
Iowa makes many justice records available, but it does not store them in one system. Floyd County Sheriff keeps local reports, bookings, jail information, active warrants, and registration records. The Floyd County Clerk keeps the filed criminal case. Iowa DCI maintains the statewide fingerprint-supported repository. Iowa Department of Corrections and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry answer other, narrower questions. This site organizes those official sources so readers can identify the right office, understand what its record contains, and use the published access method without relying on an unofficial people-search service.
What You Will Find Here
- Official record routes: where Floyd County arrest, booking, warrant, court, corrections, and registry records are kept
- Search instructions: how to use Iowa Courts Online and the state DCI request process
- Local contacts: verified details for the sheriff, clerk, and police departments serving Floyd County
- Access limits: how Iowa law treats juvenile, restricted, deferred, sealed, and expunged material
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference, not an Iowa court, law-enforcement office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We cannot retrieve an official record or conduct an official background check
- We cannot submit a public-record request or expungement filing for a visitor
- We cannot certify a docket, rap sheet, police report, or booking record
- We cannot interpret a charge or offer legal advice about a specific case
- We cannot promise that an agency's hours, prices, or procedures have not changed
Only the Floyd County or Iowa office that maintains a record can issue or certify it. Confirm current instructions with that custodian.
Search Partners
Third-party companies power some search boxes. A provider controls its own results, terms, pricing, and data practices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports access to this resource. We do not set the provider's charges or control the information it returns.
